Cookie Policy
Effective: March 31, 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, how Atrium uses them, and your choices regarding cookies.
The Short Version
- We only use essential cookies — the ones needed to keep you logged in and make the app work.
- No tracking cookies. We don't use cookies from advertisers, analytics companies, or social media.
- No third-party marketing cookies. Your browsing is not tracked for advertising purposes.
- You can manage cookies through your browser settings at any time.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site owners.
Local storage is a similar technology built into your browser that lets websites store small amounts of data on your device. We use both cookies and local storage, and this policy covers both.
2. What Cookies We Use
Atrium only uses strictly necessary cookies — meaning the app cannot function properly without them. We do not use any optional, analytics, or marketing cookies.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps you logged in to your Atrium account | Session / 1 year |
| theme | Remembers your light/dark theme preference | Persistent |
| sidebar-collapsed | Remembers whether your sidebar is open or closed | Persistent |
All of these are first-party — they are set by Atrium itself, not by any third-party service.
3. What We Don't Use
To be clear about what Atrium does not do:
- No advertising cookies — We don't serve ads or work with ad networks
- No third-party analytics cookies — We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar cookie-based tracking tools. (We do use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless — see Section 4 below.)
- No social media cookies — We don't embed social media trackers
- No cross-site tracking — We don't track your activity on other websites
- No fingerprinting — We don't use browser fingerprinting techniques
4. Third-Party Services
Atrium uses the following third-party services. Their behaviour with respect to cookies is described below.
- Supabase — Our database and authentication provider. Sets authentication cookies to manage your login session.
- Stripe — Our payment processor. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe may set cookies during the checkout process to prevent fraud. These are only present during payment.
- Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — Our hosting provider's built-in performance metrics. Cookieless — sends anonymous page-view and load-timing data using `navigator.sendBeacon`; sets no cookies and stores no personally identifiable information. Used to understand which pages are slow and which features are visited.
- Sentry — Our error tracker. Cookieless — only activates when something breaks, then sends the technical details of the error (stack trace, browser type, page path with share tokens scrubbed, your Atrium user ID) so we can fix it. Never sends email, name, form input, or session content. Sets no cookies.
These services have their own cookie and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
Please note: If you block or delete the essential cookies Atrium uses, you will be signed out and some features may not work correctly. You will need to sign in again.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. We will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you via email or a notice within the app.
